Setting Sights on Winter

The wonderful thing about winter in New Brunswick is that its unescapable. To some, that sounds awful, but to us it sounds like a challenge. Whether you've just purchased your first pair of XC skis or your goal this year is to just get outside more, we're here to help. Our knowledgeable staff are happy to help you find what you need to keep your goals attainable. They are a wealth of knowledge when it comes to finding the right layers, fat bike trails or community groups to keep you motivated. In the mean time, here are some tips we think will help you get the most out of winter.

The First Step

Snowshoes are great, but sometimes can be a bit overkill if the trail to the waterfall is a narrow perfectly packed ice road. Our suggestion: traction spikes. We know that the first step out the door can be the hardest, so be extra confident by popping on some lightweight spikes, guaranteed to get you in (and out!) of the Midland Ice Caves safely! Handle Anything

If you're thinking that a bike designed with giant tires is going to feel sluggish under you, come in and try one out - we know that you'll be pleasantly surprised. Fat bikes feature compact geometry that is characteristic of a traditional trail bike, ensuring that you don't compromise handling or responsiveness as you're out playing in the rain and snow.

Extend Your Playtime

The days are short, but that doesn't mean that your outside time needs to be. Experiencing nature in the quiet solitude of darkness is like nothing else. Stop into either location and ask what lighting option is right for you. We've got headlamps, bike mounted lights and anything else you might need to light the way after the sun goes down. You can check out our selection here.
